Many in Gen Z became adults during the Covid pandemic. Both generations have strived to pursue careers and start families in a time of high inflation, high interest rates, and high housing costs.

As of today, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is aware of 40 measles cases in Canada this year, which is already more than three times the number of cases reported in 2023.

  29. Today, the Competition Bureau announced that the filing fee for merger reviews will increase from $82,719.12 to $86,358.76, effective April 1, 2024. The increase is a result of an annual adjustment described in the Service Fees Act.

After garnering raves following its world premiere at the Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma (RVQC) at the end of February, the feature-length documentary Malartic, directed by Nicolas Paquet, will be released in theatres on April 19 in several Quebec cities: Montreal, Quebec City, Rouyn-Noranda (Abitibi) and Rimouski (Bas-Saint-Laurent).

The Taxpayers’ Ombudsperson, Mr. François Boileau, has opened a systemic examination into issues that could prevent some temporary residents from receiving the Canada child benefit (CCB) in a timely manner. Temporary residents are legally authorized by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to enter Canada for temporary purposes, including as a visitor, student, worker, or temporary resident permit holder. Most temporary residents are eligible to receive the CCB in their 19th month of continuous residency in Canada. However, the Office of the Taxpayers’ Ombudsperson (OTO) has found issues that could be causing unnecessary interruptions in CCB payments to some temporary residents.
